Te Āhuru Mōwai is a community Housing provider owned by Te Rūnanga o Toa Rangatira with over 950 homes in Western Porirua. Te Āhuru Mōwai operate a whānau-focussed service that is aligned with the tikanga and values of Ngāti Toa and aimed at contributing to improved wellbeing outcomes for the wider community.
Te Āhuru Mōwai have a masterplan of progressively upgrading their portfolio through redevelopment to ensure that all homes are warm dry and fit for purpose – A journey that Holmwoods are honoured to be part of.
Holmwoods was brought in early in this project’s life cycle to manage the Civil delivery. Early engagements enable us to have the most impact on delivering Value for Money and this was no exception.
We were able to structure the civils delivery into an attractive 3-site separable portion offering and thus gain value from the market.
We scoped up the work, compiled the schedule of prices, contract documents and RFP, managed the procurement and evaluation process.
We then oversaw the delivery, fulfilling the roles of client-side PM, as well as the Contract Administrator and Independent Certifier roles under the new NZS 3910:2023 contract.
This project included some complex stakeholder management with adjoining neighbours as well as running a tight programme to enable the site to be handed over to the vertical build team.
Delivery went smoothly with a quality project delivered under budget.
